Team Member Profile: Kyle Young

Kyle Young has always enjoyed solving problems, but when he found himself selling life insurance out of Big Bear, California, he realized the job wasn’t well aligned with his strengths as a professional.
“You’d do the sale and then you might talk to the clients two more times that year if that, and usually because something goes wrong,” Young said.
He knew he wanted to pursue a career that better matched his sense of integrity and passion for customer service. This realization led him back to Minnesota, where he had attended college, to seek new opportunities.
“I found Fello, and as soon as I talked to the two Dylans, I knew this was the one I wanted.”
Young joined the company in July 2023 as an account executive, with a heavy emphasis on new business development but also on client service – especially in auto hauling. That’s where he found the opportunity to really apply his customer-service and problem-solving skills.
“Especially on the auto side, that industry is so cut-throat,” Young said. “They’re buying cars from auctions and time is money. You’ve got to get the cars delivered within seven days, no matter where in the U.S. So I really reach out to drivers I can trust and embed in their brains that this has to be delivered in a day. I’m getting across that sense of urgency – time and efficiency to get things moving.”
Although the logistics field is vastly different from life insurance, Young embraced the challenge of learning its intricacies and terminology. He credits his Fello colleagues for fostering a collaborative environment, where the expertise of industry veterans supports and encourages newcomers.
“I’ve always had a sort of grit when it comes to sales, but I was wary at first coming into a new industry,” he said. “In this industry, you have to adapt to who you’re working with and what the issues might be. And I’m always satisfied to find a good team environment, which is exactly what it is at Fello – people leaning on each other. A lot of people here have been doing it for years so it’s nice to have support on the back end. Everyone is super efficient.”
Those problem-solving skills are clearly Young’s greatest strength, so the more he adds to his logistics expertise the more impact he makes – both for Fello clients and for the process of finding new ones.
Outside of work, Young explores his passion for music by playing piano and doing music engineering — a nod to his time in California working at music venues. He also enjoys attending Timberwolves games as part of the experience of living in downtown Minneapolis.
