Sometimes full-truckload rates are unacceptably high for a shipper’s need. Granted, that hasn’t been the case as often in the last few years. But every situation is unique. So when it’s critical to save on shipping costs, and quick delivery isn’t the highest priority, we’ll often turn to one of our rail partners.
Our expertise doesn’t stop when your freight moves from the road to the rails either. You still get frequent, proactive updates to keep you informed every step of the way. We safeguard against double-brokering by rigorously vetting our rail partners, ensuring reliability and security. And our track-and-trace team monitors your shipments just as closely on the rails as they do on the road — so you’re always in the know.
Rail also tends to be a strong option with bulk shipments. And just as our truck carriers have the full breadth of different vehicles to meet our clients’ needs, our rail partners have everything from reefer cars to dry box cars to flat cars.
Rail can be especially efficient transporting containers from ports, since all ports have direct rail access and the full capacity to load containers onto flat cars.
For our clients, the experience of having us ship freight by rail is the same as with any other mode. They simply provide us with the cargo and destination details and we take it from there.
